GoFullPage alternatives

GoFullPage is the most popular full-page screenshot extension for a reason: one click, a clean capture, no fuss. We make a competing extension, so weigh this accordingly. If GoFullPage already does what you need, keep it. Here is when something else is a better fit.

What GoFullPage does, and what Premium adds

The free version captures the whole page and lets you download it as PNG, JPEG or PDF, with no limit on the number of captures. Premium, which GoFullPage lists at $1 a month with a 7-day trial, adds editing: crop, text, shapes and emoji, a date and URL stamp, and smarter PDF page breaks. It has about 10 million users and a 4.9 rating on the Chrome Web Store.

So the reasons to switch aren't about price. They're about pages GoFullPage isn't built for.

Alternative 1: nothing installed (Chrome DevTools)

If you need a full-page capture once a month, you don't need an extension. Press F12, then Ctrl+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac), type full size, and pick Capture full size screenshot. It struggles with lazy-loaded images and repeats sticky headers, but it's free and built in. Step by step here.

Alternative 2: if the page shows private data

Support tickets, bug reports, dashboards: pages full of customer emails, card numbers and API keys. With any capture-then-edit tool, the unredacted image exists first, and it's one wrong drag-and-drop from being shared. Full Page Screenshot finds those details and blacks them out while the image is being built, so an uncensored copy never exists. How that works.

Alternative 3: if the content scrolls inside a panel

In Gmail, Slack, Notion, Jira and most admin dashboards, the page itself doesn't scroll; a panel inside it does. Whole-page tools capture the frame and one screenful of the panel. Full Page Screenshot lets you pick the scrolling panel and captures all of it.

Alternative 4: if you want heavy editing

If you annotate every capture with arrows, callouts and blur, FireShot has the deepest editor of the popular options. Its paid version is $39.95 a year or $99.95 once, per its site.
