FireShot alternatives

FireShot has been around for years and its editor is the best of the popular screenshot extensions. We make a competing extension, so read this with that in mind. The usual reasons people look elsewhere: the feature they need is in Pro, or they need something FireShot doesn't do.

What's free in FireShot and what's Pro

FireShot Lite captures the visible part of a page or the entire page. Its feature comparison lists these as Pro: capturing page elements and scrolling areas, advanced full-page capture that handles floating elements, and the extended editing tools. On 20 September 2026 its site listed Pro at $39.95 a year or $99.95 once, for two devices; check its site for today's price.

Scrolling panels, free

In web mail, chat apps, Notion, Jira and most dashboards, the page doesn't scroll; a panel inside it does. A whole-page capture then gets the frame plus one screen of the panel. Full Page Screenshot lets you point at the scrolling panel and captures all of it, free, as PNG, JPEG or PDF. It also shows sticky headers once instead of on every screen, and waits for lazy-loaded images.

Pages with private data

With FireShot, as with most tools, you capture first and blur or cover afterwards, so the unredacted image exists first. Full Page Screenshot finds emails, phone numbers, card numbers and API keys and blacks them out while the image is built, so there's never an uncensored copy to send by mistake. How that works.
